“Providing room for young journalists to learn and prove themselves” is the name of one of the 10 initiatives that are part of the project “All faces of activism 2.0.” received a grant to realize the idea. The initiative was initiated by David Pavlović and Dejan Rađen after they noticed the lack of practical classes for journalism students and young people who want to do journalism. They also noticed the impossibility of learning public performance, speaking and diction. As a solution to this problem, they designed a podcast as a new platform in Banja Luka, but very popular in the world. In this way, they want to enable students and young journalists to come to the podcast, train to perform in front of the camera, and gain the necessary experience to work in other media.
Dejan points out that they generally follow podcasts and are interested in similar topics, and they also wanted to express themselves creatively and create their content in everyday work. Their goal is to convey positive domestic stories and to be a place where guests / audience will come regularly to motivate themselves, learn something new, hear new ideas, but also to laugh. In keeping with that idea, their podcast is simply called “Home Podcast”.
Dejan is the manager of youth activities at the PRONI Center for Youth Development, who has worked on more than 20 different projects, and David Pavlović is a journalist who has worked in several media so far. With previous experiences and dynamic jobs, they have managed to make many acquaintances, which will help them host interesting people.
This podcast is a refreshment on the media scene of Banja Luka and will surely help journalism students gain much-needed practical experience!
Through this project, 50 young people participated in workshops, mentoring sessions and dialogues organized by the Genesis Project from Banja Luka, and the expert jury selected 10 project proposals that were implemented with a grant in the total amount of 15,000 KM.
The project is being implemented by the “Genesis Project” organization from Banja Luka, thanks to the support of the Resistance Initiative of Bosnia and Herzegovina (BHRI), which is implemented by the International Organization for Migration (IOM), with the financial support of the United States Agency for International Development (USAID).
