Project title: Educational theater play “Friends are made, not added”
Donor: City Banja Luka
Duration: 2 months
Location: Primary schools from the wider territory of the City of Banja Luka, including rural local communities
Short information about the project:
This project and the play are distinguished by the actuality of the topic and the fact that the idea for their realization derived from the teaching staff and primary school students throughout Bosnia and Herzegovina, who have noticed the shortcomings in the knowledge and skills among their students, which would help them to behave more suitably in the “virtual world”. Through the play, the pupils are asked the questions: How many likes do you have on Facebook? Do you have Facebook friends that you do not know personally? Did you get strange or unpleasant messages from the unknown profiles?
The fact is that communication through social networks carries numerous advantages, but also risks. Especially for teens. These risks are the themes of our play. We are convinced that children who see the play will raise the awareness on these topics and will learn how to protect themselves, but also the people around them, primarily from the dangers that come from the Internet.
Among other things, this project provides access to cultural content for children from rural areas and marginalized groups. Through the cooperation with the primary schools, especially those from the marginal areas of Banja Luka (Bronzani Majdan, Kola, Krupa na Vrbasu, Vrbanja, Karanovac and Srpske Toplice), we will provide these pupils, as well as pupils from marginalized groups, access to cultural contents.
