The “Rebuilding trust and confidence among children attending divided and segregated primary schools in Middle Bosnia canton” project has been successfully completed by handing out the school supplies to the schools covered by the project. The project, which covered 16 divided schools of the Central Bosnia Canton has been implemented by the Humanitarian organization Genesis Project from Banja Luka under the auspices of the US Embassy in BiH.
Since November 2014, when the implementation of the project began, up to now, a total of 96 workshops / training classes with children whose primary goal is to educate students who will then transfer their knowledge and skills gained on peaceful conflict resolution, intercultural understanding, children’s rights and social inclusion and communication skills to other children.
This type of the peer education aims to create a safe school environment in 16 schools.
The project itself included more than 500 direct beneficiaries and the students who participated in the workshops will continue educating their friends, thus undeniably extending the impact of the project to the general population.
