Training of High School Professional Associates in Una-Sana Canton on the Secondary Prevention Program

Genesis Project continues its mission to improve the education system and child protection through the Secondary Prevention Program (SPP). Following successful training sessions held during 2020 and 2021, which included over 1,424 teachers and representatives of school professional services in USC (Una-Sana Canton) and 471 in HNC (Herzeg-Bosnia Canton), we are now continuing with professional associates in Una-Sana Canton high schools.

The training for professional associates from all 22 high schools in the Una-Sana Canton will be held on April 8 and 9, 2025, at the Safir Hotel in Bihać, with the aim of strengthening their capacities for recognizing and addressing risk behaviors in students. In addition to representatives from high school professional services, 14 newly employed professional associates in primary schools, who did not participate in the 2020/21 SPP training, will also attend the course.

The Secondary Prevention Program plays a key role in the early recognition and prevention of unacceptable forms of student behavior. During the two-day training, professional associates will have the opportunity to familiarize themselves with:

  • The methodology for implementing the Secondary Prevention Program,

  • Psychological aspects of student protection,

  • Rules and sub-laws regulating its application in schools,

  • Practical case studies and crisis interventions.

In 2020 and 2021, Genesis Project laid the foundations for this program in the Una-Sana and Herzeg-Bosnia Cantons, and the continuation of training for high schools means further strengthening the support system for children and youth.

Investing in the education of professional associates means investing in the safety and future of young generations. The Secondary Prevention Program is not just a tool for responding to problematic behaviors—it is a systemic strategy that helps schools become safer environments for growing up.

We continue to build a safe and supportive educational environment for every child!
