Two Schools in BiH Celebrate Success in Co-Management at the Final Project Event

The implementation of the regional Erasmus+ project “Co-Managed High Schools” in Bosnia and Herzegovina successfully concluded with a final event held in Mostar. On this occasion, results were presented confirming that student participation in decision-making processes contributes to improving the school environment and developing a culture of dialogue in educational institutions.

In Bosnia and Herzegovina, two high schools from Mostar participated in the project – the Mostar Secondary Polytechnic School and the Mostar Secondary Medical School. Through the project activities, students and teaching staff at these schools actively collaborated in co-management bodies, created proposals for solutions to school challenges, and contributed to a more inclusive decision-making process.

By participating in co-management bodies, students developed skills in critical thinking, communication, leadership, and constructive dialogue, thus demonstrating their readiness to take a more active role in shaping school life.

The project clearly demonstrated the value of the co-management model, where decisions are made through consultation and cooperation among students, teachers, school management, parents, and local stakeholders. This approach builds trust, fosters a sense of community, and contributes to creating an environment where every voice is respected.

The event participants expressed hope that the project results will continue to be applied even after its conclusion, and that the concept of co-management will become part of the educational practice in as many schools as possible.

The “Co-managed High Schools” project is implemented by the organization LEAD from North Macedonia, in partnership with the Genesis Project organization from Bosnia and Herzegovina, as well as partner organizations from Kosovo, Montenegro, and Serbia. The project is funded by the European Union through the Erasmus+ programme.
