In the period from October 26 until November 6, the teachers and pedagogues from 13 primary schools in the USC and two from Hercegbosna County had the opportunity to attend the trainings, which were held in order to introduce the Program of Secondary Prevention in schools, and exchange knowledge and skills needed for effective identification and provision of support to children at risk.
In the Una-Sana Canton, the experts, who were trained earlier, held the trainings in four primary schools in Velika Kladuša: “Donja Vidovska”, “Crvarevac”, “Todorovska Slapnica” and the elementary school “Fadil Bilal”. In the Cazin area, the trainings were held in the elementary schools “Tržačka Raštela” and “Liskovac”, while in Ključ the trainings were attended by teachers and pedagogues of the elementary school “Velagići”.
Trainings in this period also included “Prva osnovna škola”, “Druga osnovna škola” and elementary school “Otoka”, in Bosanska Krupa, as well as Bužim elementary school “Suljo Mirvić” in Konjodor.
In Bihać, the training was held in the elementary school “Prekounje”, and in Sanski Most in the elementary school “Fajtovci”.
In the area of the Hercegbosna Canton, the training for teachers and pedagogues was held at the Elementary School “Fra Franjo Glavinić” in Glamoč and the Elementary School “Fra Miroslava Džaje” in Kupres.
During this period, a total of 325 primary school teachers and employees were introduced to the program of secondary prevention. The trainings were held by experts from both cantons, a total of 12 pedagogues and 6 psychologists, divided into 6 support teams.
The trainings were organized according to the already established plan, with respect to all hygienic-epidemiological measures, and respecting the allowed number of people gathering indoors.
According to the plan, by December 15, 2020, a total of 58 trainings, 49 trainings in the elementary schools of the Una-Sana Canton and nine trainings in the Hercegbosna Canton elementary schools will be realized.
The Program of Secondary Prevention aims at timely prevention of the risk of socially unacceptable behaviors as well as protection of children from violence and neglect but also enables the empowerment of teachers, professional services and students themselves to identify the risk factors for the unacceptable behaviors.
The program of secondary prevention in schools of Una-Sana Canton and Hercegbosna County is implemented by the humanitarian organization “Genesis Project”, as a technical partner of UNICEF Bosnia and Herzegovina, and the project is implemented under the auspices of the Swedish government.
