The presentation of the one-minute movies, which was held in Gromiljak and Busovaca / Bilalovac today marked the completion of the ” Rebuilding trust and confidence among children, teachers and parents in divided and segregated schools of Middle Bosnia canton” project, which has been implemented from the February last year in the Middle Bosnia Canton. The presentation of the movies which were fully made by children was held in the elementary schools “Gromiljak” and “Kiseljak 1-Gromiljak” in Gromiljak and in Brestovsko / Bilalovac in the elementary schools “Kiseljak 1” and “Brestovsko”.
The ” Rebuilding trust and confidence among children, teachers and parents in divided and segregated schools of Middle Bosnia canton” project was financed by the German foundation Schüler Helfen Leben and UNICEF BiH and implemented by the NGO Genesis Project from Banja Luka.
The project has been implemented from the February last year in Kiseljak, Busovaca, Vitez, Fojnica, Jajce, Bugojno and Gromiljak.
Its primary goal is to create the secure environment in the 16 elementary schools involved in the project through a series of activities that will contribute to the increase of information and skills in the fields of prevention and peaceful resolution of conflicts, the promotion of diversity and intercultural understanding, strengthening the children’s rights and social inclusions as well as the communication skills.
In order to have the voices of pupils and their ideas heard, eight one minute movies training sessions were held within the project, in which the children acquired the basic knowledge about making a short movie – from scriptwriting to editing. The children who participated in the training shot a total of the 83 movies.
In addition to the one-minute movies, there were the interactive peer education workshops organized within the project with the elementary school pupils too, and those workshops were also realized with the parents and teachers of the included schools.
A total of 206 pupils – peer educators were trained in 128 workshops, who then transferred their knowledge to their peers, and that way another 1,554 pupils were additionally trained .
120 linked training workshops were held with 107 teachers participating. 61 meetings were held with parents, which were attended by 1,520 parents. As another form of the creative and interactive education for the pupils the puppet shows were held throughout Middle Bosnia Canton too. A total of 20 performances were seen by 1,632 children.
