The round table and presentation of the research results and the Action Plan within the “Support Mechanism for Violence Prevention and SALW Risk Reduction” project , which under the auspices of UNICEF
and the Swedish International Development Cooperation Agency has been implemented by a humanitarian organization Genesis Project, were held today in Derventa.
The presentation was held by Marjana Gojkovic and Silvana Stojcic, pupils of the 1st grade of the Grammar School. They are members of the research team of pupils, aged 15-19, who participated in various workshops since September last year, led by a local coordinator, pedagogue Gordana Asentic.
Within the project they interviewed their peers on topics of violence prevention and SALW risk reduction.
Marjana and Silvana presented the Action Plan, “Video surveillance leads to a safe environment”, which has a goal of purchasing and installing the video surveillance in the Grammar School with technical schools in Derventa.
The Action Plan was entirely designed by pupils who took part in the project and to implement their idea UNICEF BiH provided the 3,000 KM, while the representatives of the Derventa Municipality confirmed that they would take part in co-financing.
The participants of the round table were also presented the one minute movies that pupils filmed within the project in Derventa, which cover the problems of violence.
The round table was attended by representatives of the Derventa Municipality, SPIS Commission, Derventa schools, police, NGO sector, as well as the pupils who took part in the workshops.
The “Support Mechanism for Violence Prevention and SALW Risk Reduction” project has been implemented from the first of July last year in six municipalities of Bosnia and Herzegovina and 16 Primary schools in the cooperation with relevant ministries and ends in June of this year.
