The implementation of “Promoting intercultural dialogue, inclusive and peace education, and prevention of violence among children in Canton 10” project activities started with workshops for children, organization and establishment of the coordination teams at the school level and a series of meetings with the representatives of the Ministry of Science, Education, Culture and Sports and schools. Activities will include more than 5,000 children and all municipalities and primary schools of this county. They will take place at the school level, local communities and the competent Ministry.
This activity is implemented by the NGO Genesis Project from Banja Luka within the “Applying the Human Security Concept to Stabilize Communities in Canton 10” project funded by the United Nations Trust Fund for Human Security and implemented by the UN agencies in BiH (UNICEF, IOM, UNHCR and UNDP).
The expected results are: reducing the occurrence of violence and discrimination among children, increasing tolerance, communication skills and understanding of the differences among children; increased knowledge of children and adults about the dangers of landmines, unexploded ordnance and small arms and light weapons, and at the end the increased capacity of the ministry responsible for planning, management and implementation of activities aimed at promoting the intercultural dialogue, inclusive and peace education and prevention of violence and discrimination against children within the curriculum of the school.
