Dijana Pejić, Director of the NGO Genesis Project, was the only representative of Bosnia and Herzegovina selected by the German Robert Bosch Foundation to participate in the training under the name “Education on Europe”. The training consists of five modules, each lasting four days. The participants of the education were carefully selected by the experts of the Robert Bosch Foundation, and 15 people were invited to expand their knowledge of European values and European issues, including Dijana from BiH. Other representatives come from European Union countries, including representatives from Germany, France, the Netherlands, Finland, Portugal, Italy, Bulgaria, Russia, Romania and Croatia.
The first module was held from the 11th to 14th of April in the capital of Ukraine, Kiev. Ukraine and Kiev were carefully selected by the organizers as the first seminar location due to the historical events at the end of 2013 and the beginning of 2014, known as the Euromaidan Revolution or the Revolution of Dignity, caused by the sudden abandonment of the Ukrainian authorities to start the process of Ukraine’s entry into the European Union.
The first module was dedicated to getting to know the participants and the presentation of their work and projects which they are in charge of. On that occasion, Dijana Pejić presented one of the most successful Genesis Project projects under the name “Bridges of Trust and Cooperation” implemented with the support of the German foundations Schuler Helfen Leben and Robert Bosch, and in close cooperation with the Ministry of Education of the Canton of Central and Primary Schools in that canton working under one roof, but under different curricula.
“Participation in this education is a great honour and privilege for the Genesis Project, and the opportunity to further improve the quality of our work and thus further improve our work with children in schools throughout Bosnia and Herzegovina,” said Diana. The next, second in order, module is scheduled for 14-16 June, in Stuttgart, Germany.
