A total of 30 teachers participated in the trainings on the prevention of bullying held in the primary schools in Teslić and Bijeljina. The trainings were implemented in the framework of the project “Strengthening the capacity of professionals in education in the prevention, identification and response to cases of violence in primary schools” which is part of a large regional program entitled “Protecting children from violence and promoting social inclusion of children with disabilities in the Western Balkans and Turkey” funded by the European Union in the amount of 5 million euros, and carried out by the United Nations Children’s Fund – UNICEF in Bosnia and Herzegovina, Montenegro, the former Yugoslav Republic of Macedonia, Serbia, Kosovo (UNSCR 1244), Albania and Turkey. This project is implemented by the “Genesis Project” as one of the partners of UNICEF, and will be implemented in 21 municipalities.
It was discussed about the different methods of bullying prevention and communication skills in the trainings which are parts of the project within which the target groups will be informed about the forms, causes and consequences of violence and how to report and respond to violence. The teachers and students will identify and organize special activities for prevention of violence and will work on strengthening the capacity of experts in education through the implementation of activities on prevention of violence in a total of 24 primary schools. As a result, the school security networks will be established in all primary schools, and through them the cases of violence will be responded.
The experience and best practices of prevention of violence which are jointly implemented by the “Genesis Project”, UNICEF and relevant ministries of Education, as well as recommendations documented in the realized studies, were used to design the activities for prevention of violence.
The objectives of the regional program, including this project as its integral part are: to strengthen the civil society in order to better monitor the realization of the children’s rights, promote inclusive and innovative services in civil society and to increase support to civil society to protect children from violence and social inclusion of children with disabilities development.
The “Genesis Project”, as one of the partners of UNICEF, participates in the implementation of the regional program entitled “Protecting children from violence and promotin social inclusion of children with disabilities in the Western Balkans and Turkey”. Funds for the program are provided by the European Union and UNICEF.
